Another week, not another dollar...

So I began this blog last week, and ironically manged to not eat any free food. Maybe this week I'll be more successful on my quest. I'm also not particularly a cat person, but the combination of this adorable cat with the prospect of free food made it impossible not to include.

Wednesday 3/28:
  • Stop by the amphitheater 10-5 for some free food courtesy of Islam Awareness Month
  • Cavlink is sponsoring a panel "How to Make the Most of Your First Year in the Real World" from 5-6:30 at the Recruiting Room in Bryant Hall. Free pizza and sodas provided.
  • Reminder: Free Zumba Class 9:30-10:15 pm, AFC (MP1)
Thursday 3/29:
  • After a grad-school panel (@5) will be a "food and beverage mixer" from 6 to 8 in the Alumni Hall Ballroom. Note: free alcohol for those of age
Friday 3/30:
  • You can simultaneously look at art and eat at Final Friday at the UVA Art Museum where there will be free cheese and crackers, fruit, and alcohol (for those of age) from 5:30-7:30. The A-School's Elmaleh Gallery will also have free food and music for Final Fridays. The 3rd year art show at Ruffin Gallery will be having refreshments as well.
  • Are you a First or Second Year? Then head over to the amphitheater from 4 to 7 for International Night. Sadly, I do not fall into this category, so more free food for you.
Saturday 3/31:
  • UPC Field Day from 11:30 to 1:30 at Nameless Field will be providing free pizza and drinks
  • Persian Cultural Night will have free food from Kabob Palace after performances from 6-8 at Newcomb Ballroom
Sunday 4/1:
  • Reminder: Free Yoga, 3-5, Ern Commons

If only my printer worked...

The food may not be free, but there are a ton of coupons online at Campus Special to save you some good money at restaurants in Cville. There are coupons for Dunkin' Donuts ($.99 coffee), Little Johns (free drink with $5 purchase), Revolutionary Soup (free drink), and my personal favorite, a free slurpee at 7-11 on Fridays. Since my printer currently refuses to listen to commands, I can't justify paying to print out coupons, but you should check them out so I can vicariously enjoy them.

And on a related note, consider getting a free Student Life Membership to gain access to numerous deals at local restaurants including Little Johns, Slice, and Take It Away. I've had a membership for over two years now, and needless to say, I am not getting everything out of it just on the basis of lack of knowledge. So, now we have no more excuses.

Why hasn't someone else done this yet?

Now, I will attempt the possible, to keep track of as many free food opportunities around grounds as I can find. And be sure to like Hoo Wants Free Food on facebook, so you too can exploit the maximum amount.

Wednesday 3/21:

  • Feel altruistic/desperate? Donate blood @ the Chem Building or Westmister Church and get free pizza from 12-6

  • Free coffee at Alderman Cafe from 4-5 (note: must bring your own mug)

Thursday 3/24:
