Midterms already?

Looks like September is coming to a close. As Midterms start, consider taking a study break at some of these events and grab food that you don't have time to make for yourself.

Celebrate Coffee week at Einstein's Bagels, there is a deal every day! You can also stop by McDonalds for a free cup of coffee every day this week.
Thursday 9/27:
  • If you haven't had the chance yet, check out the Kluge Ruhe for Aussome Thursdays from 5:30-7.

  • Stop by Arts Grounds (i.e. UVA Art Museum, Ruffin Hall) for Final Fridays from 5:30-7:30 and look at some art while drinking wine and eating cheese.
  • There doesn't seem to be food involved, but you can see Moonrise Kingdom for free at 501 College Drive at 7:30, courtesy of Piedmont Virginia Community College.
Sunday: 9/30
  • Feeling altruistic? Volunteer for Ghandi Day (show up at 11:15 at the Chem Building), and enjoy brunch that you technically earned.

Don't forget to sign up to get free lattes (or coffee/tea) every day for this last week in September from HotCakes (located in Barracks by CVS), all you need is your student ID!

Have you taken your professor out to lunch?

Are you in the college (which I presume to be the overwhelming majority)? College Council sponsors the Take Your Professor Out to Lunch program. Enjoy a free lunch (up to $15) in the Garden Room (or another on grounds location) with a professor and one other student. To sign up, go to Monroe 103 and speak with Mrs. French. To top it off, you can do this twice a semester!

Drink?

This site could come in handy, though I am not positive how up to date it is... You can also follow @CVilleBars for more drink specials.

Lets be charitable

In the spirit of free food, I figured we could provide others with free food by supporting Freerice.com, a non-profit website that is owned by and supports the United Nations World Food Program. For every question you answer correctly, Free Rice will donate 10 grains of rice to those in need. Happy playing (and eating)!
